NEW DELHI: Nokia 2, HMD Global’s cheapest smartphone launched this year, is now up for pre-orders. The smartphone was launched globally in an event held in India at an average global price of EUR 99 (roughly Rs. 7,500). The smartphone has gone on pre-orders in Russia at a price tag of RUB 7,990 (roughly Rs. 8,800). It can be ordered from the company’s official mobileshop.nokia.ru website.
HMD Global is yet to reveal the India price of the Nokia 2 or when it will be going on sales. However, speculation suggests the smartphone’s price in India to be around Rs 6,999. Given the specifications and price tag, the smartphone goes in direct competition with the likes of Moto C and Xiaomi Redmi 4A.
Like mentioned above, Nokia 2 is the cheapest in the series and is aimed for those who are looking for all the basic features in a handset. It sports a metal frame along with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection at the front and a polycarbonate body at the back.
